Although more typical of a style of embroidery from Nurata, the quality of the silk and dyes, including murex,( see glossary) and the superb borders could indicate that this is from Shakhrisyabz. A similar piece with Shakhrisyabz provenance is shown within “Vok Collection: Suzani.” Vok, Ignazio, Munich, 1994, pp. 19/20. |
