		Painter's Smock Fine Linen, embellished with cotton embroidery, depicting the yin/yang symbol of balance and harmony. This smock is a rare find and an indication of Asian philosophical links that existed with European artists. English, circa 1920.

After the devastaion of the First World War, designs that involved hand finishing were very avant-garde. They were a refreshing contrast to machine made products.
